Pneumatic Actuated Ball Valve
Pneumatic Actuated Ball Valves
Pneumatic actuated ball valves combine a quarter-turn ball valve with a compressed-air-powered actuator for remote flow isolation and automated operation. Valve materials, pressure ratings, seat configurations, actuator types, and control accessories can be selected according to the process medium, operating conditions, and system requirements.
Actuator Types & Operating Options
Single-Acting Spring-Return Actuator
Spring-Return Function: Compressed air drives one stroke, while a spring provides the return movement when air pressure is lost.
Fail Position: Fail-open or fail-closed operation depends on the actuator configuration and valve assembly.
Double-Acting Actuator
Pneumatic Operation: Compressed air drives both opening and closing strokes.
Sizing Requirements: Actuator output torque must meet the valve's operating torque requirements at the minimum available air pressure.
On/Off & Modulating Control
On/Off Service: Provides full-open and full-closed operation for automated pipeline isolation.
Modulating Service: A compatible positioner can support intermediate positioning when the valve, actuator, and process conditions are suitable for flow regulation.
